Woodmont Breaks Ground on Transit-Oriented Project
The 300-unit luxury community will be steps from a New Jersey mass transit hub.

Woodmont Properties has broken ground on Woodmont Rail at Metropark, a 300-unit luxury rental community in the Metropark submarket of Woodbridge, N.J. Completion is expected in 2028.
The transit-oriented development is located at 186 Wood Ave. S., just steps from Metropark train station, a key mass transit hub offering direct access to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains. The property’s central location provides residents with proximity to New York City, Newark, N.J., and major thoroughfares including Routes 1 and 27, the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway.
Designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, Woodmont Rail will be a six-story building with a mix of studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 574 to more than 1,400 square feet. The residences will have open-concept layouts with 9-foot ceilings, high-end finishes, Energy Star appliances, quartz countertops, spa-like bathrooms and private balconies.
Abundant amenities
The community will have 23,000 square feet of amenities including a fitness center, multi-sport simulator, clubroom, media room, coworking center and conference rooms. Outside offerings will include a pool, fire pits, dining areas, a rooftop space with a barbecue, an outdoor TV and a shaded bar. Other amenities will feature a package concierge, a dog run, a seven-level parking garage and EV charging stations.
Woodmont Rail is situated near retail, hospitality and recreational offerings. Major employers nearby include EY, Prudential Insurance, UnitedHealthcare, BASF Corp. and Wells Fargo.
Other Woodmont properties
The Fairfield, N.J., company, an owner, developer and manager of multifamily and commercial properties across the nation, is active in other parts of New Jersey. Last month, the firm launched leasing for WoodBrook at Randolph, a 199-unit luxury rental community in Morris County, N.J. Located in Randolph Township, the property comprises a four-story building with 97 apartments and seven townhome-style buildings featuring 102 carriage home residences. The development features one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans. Community amenities include a pool, clubroom, fitness center, yoga room, game den, sports simulator, coworking space and social lounge.
In June, Woodmont Properties finished leasing up Woodmont Forge at Hopewell, a 300-unit luxury apartment complex in Mercer County, N.J., completed about a year ago. The Hopewell Township property has one- and two-bedroom residences. Located just south of Interstate 295 near Princeton, N.J., Woodmont Forge has amenities such as a game den, a multi-use theater room, a fitness studio, a pool and sundeck, an outdoor fireplace and grilling stations.
The company completed lease-up in April 2024 at the first phase of Woodmont Liberty at Independence, a 120-unit multifamily property in Independence Township, about 60 miles west of Manhattan. Woodmont Properties began leasing in April 2023 when the project was delivering. Construction started the previous year. The property has one- and two-bedroom units with custom-designed kitchens, walk-in closets, in-unit washers and dryers and private balconies or patios. Community amenities include a pool, outdoor grilling and dining areas, a fitness center, game room, conference center, coworking spaces, walking trails and dog park.
The development is located less than 2 miles from downtown Hackettstown, which has entertainment, dining and retail offerings, along with a train station. Interstate 80 and Routes 46 and 306 are nearby and offer accessibility to the greater New Jersey and New York area.
