Pennrose Hires Veteran as VP of Operations

Barry Weaver will provide leadership to regions in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He has more than 25 years of experience in multifamily property management.

Pennrose, a developer and operator of both conventional and affordable communities throughout eastern U.S., announced that Barry Weaver has joined the property management executive team as vice president of operations. Weaver will have property oversight responsibilities for eastern Pennsylvania and parts of New Jersey, which includes 60 properties and 3,500 units.

With more than a quarter of a century of experience in multifamily property management, including oversight of a national portfolio of more than 12,000 units, Weaver has worked with several housing programs including LIHTC, HUD 202, Section 8, Bond, HOME, Hope VI, ACC, Housing Choice Voucher, Congregate Care and RAD.

Prior to joining the Philadelphia-based company, Weaver served as president of property management for Columbia Residential in Atlanta, where he was responsible for leadership of Columbia Residential Property Management Inc. Prior to that, he held executive positions with Westlake Housing LP and Volunteers of America. During his tenure with Volunteers of America, Weaver managed the recovery of more than 1,000 apartments in New Orleans devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

Weaver earned a master of public administration from the University of Colorado, Denver, and a bachelor in sociology and social welfare from Humboldt State University, Arcata, Calif.

Last year, Gayle Filo also joined Pennrose Management Co. as vice president of operations.
