Bentall Kennedy Appoints New SVP in DC

Melanie Domres has more than 30 years of asset management experience, having previously founded Cafritz Interests' Multifamily Development division, as well as Novus Residences Management.

Bentall Kennedy has selected Melanie Domres as its newest senior vice president of asset management for its Washington, D.C., office. She will oversee a portfolio comprising more than 10,000 multifamily units in various stages.

Domres brings more than 30 years of real estate experience to the position. From 2006 to 2017, she was a founding principal of Cafritz Interests LLC’s Multifamily Development division, where she handled transaction sourcing, financing and entitlements, as well as led day-to-day development. At the same time, she created Novus Residences Management LLC, where she was responsible for property and support functions, HR development, IT and accounting departments, recruitment leasing and maintenance personnel. She also served as vice president at ARK Realty Capital, senior asset manager at Archon Group and a director at Kettler, which just last November appointed David Ohlrich president of property management.

She holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a B.A. in political science from Stanford University. Domres is also a member of CREW D.C. and chair of the Habitat for Humanity Northern Virginia Board.
