Wood Partners Breaks Ground on Portland Community
Alta Amberglen will rise on an 18-acre site that features woods and a natural stream.
Wood Partners has broken ground on its luxury community in Hillsboro, Ore., west of Portland. The asset, Alta Amberglen, will feature 326 apartments. Construction is set to complete in 2024.
Alta Amberglen will have one-, two- and three-bedroom units as well as townhomes. Apartments will feature in-unit washer and dryer sets and wide-plank flooring.
“We’re excited to announce the groundbreaking of Alta Amberglen which brings a diversity of housing unit types to the fast-growing submarket of Hillsboro, including a variety of townhome-style rental units that feature two- and three-bedroom plus den layouts and private attached garages,” Michael Nagy, managing director at Wood Partners, told Multi-Housing News.
Situated at the intersection of Northeast Eckert Drive and Walker Road, the property is 1 mile from the Tanasbourne retail areas with stores such as Whole Foods, Target and REI. Downtown Portland, where employers including Microsoft, Nike, Oracle and Intel have offices, is accessible via a transit connection to the TriMet Lightrail System or a 20-minute drive.
The property is on an 18-acre site with 10 acres of woods and a natural stream. Community amenities will include a pocket park, a fitness center, a yoga studio, a podcast studio, coworking spaces and a game room with golf simulator.
Preleasing is anticipated to begin in late 2023, managed by Wood Residential.
Wood Partners’ expanding portfolio
While building Alta Amberglen, Wood Partners plans to launch construction on some 1,100 apartments this year. The firm began construction on Alta Riverside, a community in Irving, Texas, set to open in July 2023. It has also expanded its Texas portfolio by breaking ground in Conroe on a 354-unit property.
Elsewhere in the nation, Wood Partners opened its third Phoenix community, the Alta Warehouse District.
