Wood Partners has now completed three communities in the downtown Phoenix market, with the opening of its latest being Alta Warehouse District. The firm began construction on the project in November 2020, tapping CCBG Architects to design the community.

The luxury community was built with 300 units in studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans. The units were built with smart thermostats and electronic door entries, with select units offering integrated audio packages. Residents have access to amenities, such as a pool, a dog park, a rooftop deck, conference spaces and micro offices. Alta Warehouse District also has an on-site convenience market.

Located at 402 W. Lincoln St., the community is situated within the historic Warehouse District of downtown Phoenix. The submarket offers a variety of restaurant, retail and entertainment venues, including Pizzeria Bianco, Cobra Arcade Bar and the Orpheum Theatre. Alta Warehouse District is also near a number of major attractions, including Chase Field, Footprint Center, Symphony Hall and Arizona Federal Theater.

THIRD PROJECT IN DOWNTOWN

According to Wood Partners, the firm doesn’t have any current plans to build more residential projects in the area but is exploring every opportunity. Clay Richardson, managing director for Wood Partners, told Multi-Housing News that Phoenix has seen tremendous growth over the past few years, becoming the fifth largest metro in the U.S.

“The modern renter today often wishes to be near urban centers,” Richardson told MHN. “Downtown Phoenix has been a focus for us as it has a number of irreplaceable amenities, attractions and neighborhoods, along with the most dense employment corridor in the state.”

Besides Alta Warehouse District, Wood Partners previously built two other residential projects in downtown Phoenix. Its development portfolio for the area includes Alta Fillmore and Skyline Lofts, which was previously known as Alta Phoenix Lofts. Just outside of downtown Phoenix, Wood Partners teamed up with CP Capital to build Alta 99th, a 402-unit community located in the West Valley submarket.
