WNC Adds New SVP
Richard Bennion brings 15 years of industry experience to his new role. He previously served as a senior vice president with Carmel Partners.
WNC has hired Richard Bennion as senior vice president of capital markets, preservation equity funds. In his new role, Bennion will oversee the firm’s investor relations including equity raising, investor due diligence and multi-investor fund closings. The affordable housing investment company closed on two LIHTC funds totaling $210 million in September.
Bennion has 15 years of industry experience. Before joining WNC, he held a senior vice president position with Carmel Partners, a real estate investment management company focusing on multifamily development, renovation and debt. During his 12-year tenure, he helped raise more than $2.8 billion of equity for sector-specific, closed-end real estate funds. His activity included the marketing and closing of three funds between 2011 and 2018.
Previously, he was an investment associate with HG Capital and a summer associate with The Carlyle Group. Bennion holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
