The Habitat Co. Bolsters Condominium Division
David Barnhart, the newly appointed vice president, will work alongside Shruti Kumar, appointed as regional manager, in overseeing the company’s portfolio in Chicago, Detroit and Tampa.
Less than two months after naming Kimberly Sisney as the new vice president of Habitat Affordable Group, The Habitat Co. added two members to its condominium division. Vice President David Barnhart will work together with Regional Manager Shruti Kumar to oversee the company’s 3,700 units in Chicago, Detroit and Tampa. The portfolio includes the Loft at Riverton, a 172-unit historic Detroit property converted to a condo building in 2005, listed on the National Register of Historic Sites.
Barnhart has more than 30 years of experience in condo management, having joined The Habitat Co. from a similar position with Draper and Kramer Inc., where he oversaw a portfolio of more than 7,000 condo units. Barnhart has received both Illinois Broker and Illinois Community Association Manager licenses and has been awarded several times for his professional achievements.
Kumar also comes from Draper & Kramer, where she served as assistant vice president and property supervisor. A veteran with 16 years of experience, she oversaw the operation of 2,000 units in buildings ranging from high-rises in Chicago’s Lincoln Park to boutique properties in the Gold Coast neighborhood. Kumar serves as a director on the Apartment Building Owners and Managers’ Association and volunteers on ABOMA’s Even Planning Committee. She was the recipient of the CPM of the Year award for the Chicago area in 2016.
