The Habitat Co. Appoints VP

Zack Zalar brings more than 15 years of experience to the role.

The Habitat Co. has appointed Zack Zalar as its new vice president of acquisition and investment. Zalar brings more than 15 years of relevant industry experience to the new role, which he will build upon as the firm seeks to expand its presence in several key markets’ affordable housing and market-rate sectors.

In his most recent position as principal for Synergistic Equity, he sourced national on- and off-market investment opportunities in residential, hospitality and retail assets. His other previous work experience includes a role as director of acquisitions for Core Spaces, where he was responsible for identifying student housing opportunities in 20 U.S. markets. He also served as director of investments for Inland Real Estate Group between 2014 and 2018.

Zalar holds a Master of Science in Real Estate from DePaul University in Chicago, as well as a bachelor’s degree in business from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Mich.
