Terra Search Partners Names Managing Director

The executive will strengthen the firm’s real estate investment management practice while helping client companies build strong and durable platforms.

DSC_0941-Edit-2San Francisco—San Francisco-based Terra Search Partners announced that Mary McCarthy has been appointed managing director. McCarthy will help Terra Search Partners continue to grow and build the firm’s real estate investment management practice while helping client companies build strong and durable platforms for lasting success.

McCarthy brings 30 years of real estate capital markets experience and a deep understanding of real estate private equity to executive search.

Prior to joining Terra Search Partners, McCarthy was with Hines for nine years as managing director and senior managing director in the Hines Capital Markets Group. There, she structured investment offerings and raised capital for funds and joint ventures. McCarthy’s prior positions have included heading her own consulting firm, as well as senior marketing and capital markets roles at Security Capital Group, Clarion Partners, and CBRE Investors. McCarthy began her business career in New York as a real estate investment banker at Morgan Stanley.

McCarthy serves as a trustee of Grace Cathedral in San Francisco and as a board member of the University of Virginia School of Architecture Foundation. She holds a BS in Architecture from the University of Virginia and Master of Architecture and MBA degrees from the University of Pennsylvania’s Design and Wharton Schools.
