San Diego High-Rise Welcomes First Residents

Greystar Development will handle management of the 300-unit luxury Palisade at Westfield UTC.

A partnership between Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield and institutional investors advised by J.P. Morgan Asset Management and Greystar Development has opened Palisade at Westfield UTC, a 300-unit luxury community in San Diego. 

Local architect Joseph Wong Design Associates designed the property’s interior finishes. The units include hardwood flooring, panelized appliances, quartz countertops with waterfall islands, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, expansive private balconies and Smart Home technology.

Community amenities include elevated common spaces curated by Susan Marinello, as well as a 4,300 square-foot indoor-outdoor rooftop sky lounge overlooking the Pacific Ocean, outdoor terrace with resort-style pool and event spaces, fitness center with open-air yoga deck, private library, sports lounge, resident clubhouse, chef’s kitchen, karaoke room and a fully equipped floor dedicated to resident coworking.

Palisade at Westfield UTC is San Diego’s tallest multifamily asset above sea level. Located at 8800 Lombard Place in the city’s University City neighborhood, its sits adjacent to Westfield UTC, one of the area’s largest shopping destinations. Hospitals, hotels and banks are all within walking distance. Major thoroughfares including Interstate 805 and El Camino Real provide easy access throughout the area.

The owners selected Greystar Development to manage the building. The development team also included Suffolk, which served as general contractor and handled the development of 15 Bridge Park Drive, an affordable rental community at Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
