NHC Welcomes Two Additions to Team

Washington, D.C.--The National Housing Conference has named Cynthia Dodd Adcock vice president of communications and marketing, and Ethan Handelman vice president of policy and advocacy.

Washington, D.C.–The National Housing Conference (NHC) has named Cynthia Dodd Adcock vice president of communications and marketing, and Ethan Handelman vice president of policy and advocacy. NHC expects that Adcock and Handelman will be instrumental in efforts to move affordable housing to a first-tier issue on the national agenda. Adcock will direct and manage communications and marketing efforts, and Handelman will work directly with the policy and advocacy team to develop and carry out policy goals.

Prior to joining NHC, Adcock served as director of marketing and communications for the National Council of State Housing Agencies, where she oversaw marketing, communications and conference activities and coordinated communications among the nation’s state housing finance agencies. She previously held senior positions in marketing and communications at Fannie Mae and the National Association of Home Builders.

Handelman joins NHC after leading the Advisory practice at Recap Real Estate Advisors, assisting public- and private-sector clients to understand and shape the affordable housing financial and policy environment. While at Recap, he authored “Government Sponsored Enterprises and Multifamily Housing Finance: Refocusing on Core Functions,” commissioned by NHC. Other recent projects included redesign of LIHTC QAPs for multiple states, development of a rental subsidy and soft debt production program for the Republic of Ireland, and analysis and transaction work on hundreds of multifamily affordable properties nationwide.
