National Multi Housing Council Names Betsy Feigin Befus to General Counsel
The National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) named Betsy Feigin Befus to the newly-created position general counsel, heading up legal affairs and legal advocacy initiatives on behalf of the organization.
Washington, D.C.—The National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) named Betsy Feigin Befus to the newly-created position general counsel, heading up legal affairs and legal advocacy initiatives on behalf of the organization.
Prior to joining NMHC in 2001, Feigin Befus served as attorney advisor with the U.S. Department of Labor, where she drafted appellate decisions involving workers’ compensation matters issued by the Department. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Colorado State University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law. She is a member of the District of Columbia and Colorado Bars.As general counsel, Feigin Befus will develop legal strategies to advance NMHC’s organizational goals across various functional areas of the Council, including the amicus brief program and related legal advocacy efforts. In addition, she will lead key regulatory and legislative issues for NMHC and the Joint Legislative Program with the National Apartment Association, including telecommunications, labor and employment issues. Feigin Befus will also head up NMHC’s diversity initiative.
