NAHB Chief Economist Awarded with Certified Business Economist Designation by NABE

The CBE is a comprehensive certification covering core topics in applied economics and data analytics.

Washington, D.C.—National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Chief Economist David Crowe has earned the Certified Business Economist (CBE) designation from the National Association for Business Economics (NABE). Crowe is among the inaugural class of CBE recipients, and will be recognized at the 2015 NABE Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 11.

The CBE is a comprehensive certification covering core topics in applied economics and data analytics. In addition to demonstrating a mastery of this knowledge, CBE Designees are required to complete courses in verbal and written communication skills and pursue continuing education throughout their careers. Built by more than 50 practitioners over a five-year period, the program was launched in October 2014, and is governed by a board that includes leading economists working in business, academia and government.

All CBE candidates must have completed a four-year degree or equivalent prior to enrolling, must have two years of work experience in applied business economics or a related field and must pass a comprehensive practical examination. Candidates can choose a path of self-study for the qualifying exam or can attend courses developed by NABE to prepare.
