“I was honored to receive the NAA’s Lifetime Achievement award. It is a reflection of the efforts of our entire company,” Yardi told Multi-Housing News. “Since we began developing applications to serve the apartment industry more than 30 years ago, the multifamily space has undergone a remarkable transformation. Today more Americans live in apartments than ever before. Our goal has always been to help our clients be successful housing providers so they can help their clients with their housing choices. It is a small but vital piece of a much larger picture.”

Yardi founded the company in 1982, and it has continued to grow throughout the years since.

“The Lifetime Achievement Award is NAA’s most prestigious honor,” said Marc Ross, NAA chairman, in prepared remarks. “It is awarded to members with a long history of exemplary national service to the apartment industry. I can’t think of anyone who deserves this more than Anant Yardi. His work has helped to transform the industry.”

Yardi Systems surpassed 5,000 employees in 2016 and was recognized as one of the world’s Top 100 Private Cloud Companies by Forbes Magazine. The company has grown its philanthropic efforts, regularly supporting nearly 100 nonprofit organizations every year, as well as responding to humanitarian crises. Yardi is a Diamond Sponsor and 360 Degree Partner of NAA and has paid and pledged $1 million to the NAA Education Institute over the last five years.

“It is important to give back to the industry that has given our company so much,” added Yardi. “Yardi has committed to continue contributions to the NAA Education Institute and we look forward to seeing this important work benefit the multifamily industry far into the future.”
