M&R Development Breaks Ground in Milwaukee

M&R Development has broken ground on its five-story luxury apartment building, co-developed with Campbell Capital Group. The multifamily community is located at 2929 N. Mayfair Road in Wauwatosa, Wis., a 20-minute drive west from downtown Milwaukee. The 258-unit building will have studio, convertible, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Stevens Construction is serving as the general contractor, while the architect is Poole & Poole Architecture.

Each unit in 2929 on Mayfair will feature full-size washers and dryers, smart thermostats, modern two-tone cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, lighted ceiling fans, 9-foot ceilings, a subway tile designed bathroom shower and tub, French door refrigerators and more. Select apartments in the luxury community will also have walk-in closets and balconies.

Centered in the five-story community will be a three-story clubhouse and attached courtyard featuring an outdoor pool, pickleball court, sun shelf, grilling stations and fire pits. Inside the building will house a lounge, club room, fitness center, business center, coffee bar, entertainment kitchen and more.

Located just outside of Milwaukee, 2929 on Mayfair is being constructed within walking distance of the Mayfair shopping center, several parks, restaurants and the Wauwatosa West High School. Balconies from the luxury community will overlook the Blue Mound Golf and Country Club across the street.

“There are not many new apartment communities in the Wauwatosa area with this caliber of resort-style, on-site amenities,” Anthony Rossi Sr., managing partner of M&R Development, told Multi-Housing News. “We selected this location for its exceptional proximity to the Mayfair shopping center as well as many other recreational venues.”

Apartments are set to be available in August 2023, with RMK Management in charge of leasing as well as property management.

Building a Wisconsin Portfolio

M&R Development now has three luxury apartment projects located in Wisconsin. The first, which broke ground in 2020, is a 236-unit community on Lake Michigan, 5 miles south of downtown Milwaukee. The second, also breaking ground in 2020, has 270 apartments in Madison, Wis.

While M&R Development is expanding its portfolio to Wisconsin territory, most of the firm’s projects are in Illinois. Besides the luxury communities in Wisconsin, the most recent project of M&R Development was an eight-story, 148-unit build in Chicago.
