As chairman, a top item on Berman’s agenda is for MBA to continue to play its leadership role in redesigning the government’s role in the secondary mortgage market.
Berman is a founder and member of the Board of Managers of CWFinancial Services. He joined the CW companies in 1985. Under Berman’s direction, CWCapital first entered the national lending business in 1991. Since then, annual loan production has grown from $100 million to $2.3 billion. CWCapital services most loans that it originates, currently servicing a portfolio of $11.6 billion in 48 states.
Berman became chairman-elect of MBA in October 2009. He currently serves as chairman of the MBA’s Council on Ensuring Mortgage Liquidity, a task force of association members that examines policy options and issue recommendations for the future of the secondary mortgage market.
