Chicago—Inland Residential Property Trust Inc., a nonlisted REIT sponsored by Inland Real Estate Investment Corp., has announced the appointment of Meredith Mendes as a member of the board of directors. Mendes will fill the vacancy created by the passing of Donald Tolva. In her new position, she will be in charge of the company’s finance, facilities and real estate, technology, human resources and other support functions.
Mendes was unanimously appointed by the board as an independent director. In addition, she was also named a member of the nominating and corporate governance committee and a member of the audit committee. The board already comprises Daniel Goodwin, director & chairman, Adrian Corbiere, independent director & corporate governance committee chair and Michael Reid, independent director & audit committee chair.
“With more than 25 years of finance and commercial real estate experience, we believe Meredith will continue to uphold the same values, integrity and dedication that Don exhibited during his tenure as an independent director. We are pleased to welcome Meredith as a member of the board of directors,” Mitchell Sabshon, president & CEO of Inland Residential Trust, said in a prepared statement.
Prior to being appointed, Mendes served as an independent director of IRC Retail Centers Inc. from 2014 to 2016, a member of the audit and nominating and corporate governance committees and a member of the compensation committee from 2015 to 2016. In addition, she served as executive director & COO with Jenner & Block LLP from 2005. Mendes also held chief financial officer positions at the Hartford Computer Group Inc. and Medline Industries Inc., in addition to having served as vice president in public finance at First Chicago Capital Markets.
