Magnusson Architecture and Planning (MAP) has announced Fernando Villa, AIA, LEED AP, has been promoted principal and director of design.
New York—Magnusson Architecture and Planning (MAP) has announced Fernando Villa, AIA, LEED AP, has been promoted principal and director of design. The promotion of Villa is expected expand MAP’s design capabilities and brings the next generation of leadership to the forefront.
As principal, Villa will continue to apply his skills towards a variety of housing projects which will consist of affordable, market rate, senior and supportive. With this, MAP expects to raise bars in innovative architecture.
Villa brings valuable experience to his new role in addition to his housing experience. With him, he brings hospitality, cultural, historic preservation and adaptive reuse projects. Since joining in 2007, Villa has designed a number of award-winning and high-profile projects. These have included projects such as 22 Tarrytown Road Workforce Housing in Greenburgh, New York (LEED Silver) and Creston Avenue Residence in the Bronx (targeting LEED Platinum).
Projects designed by Villa are expected to begin construction this year. These projects include St. Augustine Apartments (targeting GOLD LEED) and Webster Green in The Bronx (targeting LEED Platinum), and Ludlow Commons and Cottage Gardens Housing phase 3 in Yonkers.
