Emson brings more than 20 years of experience to the position, including serving as chief development officer, senior vice president and chief financial officer for The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region, a philanthropic nonprofit that pools $350 million in charitable donations to make grants that benefit both Washington-area and national charities.
A native of England, Emson is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The George Washington University. He replaces Susan Guthrie, who is retiring after 10 years of service to NMHC.
