Houston—Wood Partners has hired Kim Small, a veteran in the industry who has managed apartment properties across the United States for several Houston-based companies, as regional vice president for its Central Region. Small will be responsible for leading and directing all functions of property management in conjunction with Wood Partners’ strategies for the region’s portfolio of projects under development and existing assets
Over the last five years, Small was head of The Morgan Group’s national property management company. Prior to joining Morgan, Small was a driving force behind the growth of Alliance Residential’s central region. Under her leadership, the company’s portfolio in the central region more than doubled. Much of her earlier career was spent at Gables Residential and its predecessor, Trammell Crow, where she specialized in lease-ups and later served as regional vice president of third party assets in several states.
The 2011 president of the Houston Apartment Association (the largest apartment association in the United States), Small was included in the Institute of Real Estate Management’s elite group of “Women Changing the World of Real Estate Management.” She is a Certified Apartment Property Supervisor (CAPS) and studied interior design at the University of Houston.
