Hines Names New European Director of Living Operations
Marc Sampietro joins the firm from The Student Hotel, where he acted as director of regional operations for southern Europe.

Hines has appointed Marc Sampietro as director of living operations for Spain and Italy. In his new role, he is set to expand the company’s profile in student housing and the build to rent sector, across the two countries.
Sampietro joins the firm from The Student Hotel, where he acted as director of regional operations for southern Europe. Before that, he served as regional director for NH Hotel Group, in Italy. He also held several positions with AC Hotels.
The newly appointed director has graduated from Centro Superior de HostelerÃa de Galicia in Spain. He also has an EMBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan.
The Hines Pan-European Core Fund and Hines European Value Fund each have several portfolios of assets across Europe, with various projects in development. In May, the company acquired a former racing track and sports complex in Milan, for the construction of a large residential-led mixed-use project. The redevelopment is slated to cost approximately €350 million ($384 million), over the next four years.
