Heitman Brings New VP on Board

Ashish Karamchandani, who previously occupied a similar position with Magellan Investment Partners, will be part of the company’s acquisitions team.

Heitman has welcomed Ashish Karamchandani as the new vice president of its acquisitions team. Karamchandani has more than 10 years of real estate experience and comes from a similar position with Magellan Investment Partners, an affiliate of Magellan Investment Group. He will be based in Chicago and will be part of the team in charge of expanding Heitman’s North American Private Real Estate Equity platform.

During his career, Karamchandani held senior acquisition and asset management roles at TVO Capital and Hudson Burnham Development Partners. His responsibilities included underwriting all potential multifamily acquisitions and overseeing the due diligence process. Between 2006 and 2008 he also co-founded Campus Apartment Finders. Karamchandani is a graduate of Emory University and he also serves on the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago.

With approximately $42 billion in assets under management, Heitman has been directly investing in the equity or debt capitalization of a variety of properties.
