Equity Residential Taps Kruse for NY Expansion

New York--Equity Residential, a national owner and operator of apartment properties, has tapped George Kruse as vice president of development for the New York metropolitan region.

New York–Equity Residential, a national owner and operator of apartment properties, has tapped George Kruse as vice president of development for the New York metropolitan region.

Kruse will be responsible for growing the company’s portfolio throughout the region, currently comprised of more than 8,000 units. He will spearhead new residential projects and oversee the development process, from site identification to design, construction and marketing. He is currently overseeing the development of TEN23, a 111-unit luxury rental property at Tenth Avenue and 23rd Street, Equity Residential’s newest development in New York City.

Kruse has more than three decades of real estate experience. Prior to joining the company, he served as managing director for Toll Brothers Realty Trust, where he ran the firm’s commercial development group. Previously, he served as vice president of real estate for Fortress Investment Group, where he was responsible for development and asset management for several private equity portfolio companies. He spent 10 years at Forest City Residential, where he served as vice president of development and head of East Coast multifamily and mixed-use development.
