Comstock Adds SVP of Development
In his new role, John Harrison will oversee the continuation of two of the largest mixed-use developments in metro Washington, D.C.
Comstock Holding Cos. has appointed John Harrison as senior vice president/development of CDS Asset Management LC, its commercial real estate asset management subsidiary. In his new role, Harrison will lead the development team in charge of Reston Station and Loudoun Station, two of the largest transit-oriented and mixed-use projects in metro Washington, D.C. Additional responsibilities will be related to the firm’s northern Virginia assets located in Arlington, Fairfax and Loudoun counties.
Harrison joins Comstock from The Macerich Co., where he served as vice president of development and senior vice president for nearly 10 years. During his tenure, he led the team responsible for the 1.4 million-square-foot, $600 million Tysons Phase 1 development adjacent to the Tysons Corner Center mall. Other large-scale, mixed-use and retail projects built under his management included the 1 million-square-foot Fashion District Philadelphia, the 1.2 million-square-foot Kings Plaza in Brooklyn, N.Y., and the Shops at North Bridge in downtown Chicago.
Prior to Macerich, Harrison worked as a director of development and senior counsel with Wilmorite Inc. and as a senior vice president of alternative lending at HSBC Mortgage Corp. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in management from St. John Fisher College and a Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law.
