Chicago—New York City-based Berkadia recently expanded its Chicago team with the addition of Christopher Honn as senior managing director in the company’s Senior Housing Group.
In his new position, Honn will report to Head of Mortgage Banking Warren Higgins, and will be responsible for managing the firm’s loan origination for senior housing and healthcare-related assets.
“The loan production volume from our Seniors Housing Group continues to grow, and with it, the need for experienced professionals that can convey our robust finance offerings with current and prospective clients,” said Higgins. “Christopher’s three decades of leadership and experience in the senior housing and healthcare industry make him an excellent fit to lead our group.”
Christopher Honn brings 30 years of experience financing senior housing and healthcare real estate projects ranging in loan size from $1 million to $3.5 billion. Prior to joining Berkadia, Honn served 13 years as director of new business production and customer relationships with Fannie Mae, 10 years as an investment banker and seven years as a commercial banker at the American National Bank in Chicago.
Honn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Illinois State University, and is an executive board member of the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA).
