CBRE has added Sam Zell as its newest senior vice president. He will join the company’s Philadelphia office, working closely with the multifamily capital markets consisting of Spencer Yablon, John McFadden, Robert Miller, Michael Jahnle and Samantha Kupersmith.

Zell has more than 17 years of real estate experience, specializing in multifamily private equity-funded acquisitions in institutional-quality real estate investments. He comes to CBRE from Buligo Capital Partners, where he served as vice president between 2016 and 2019. Prior to that, he was transactions manager at Resource Real Estate, where he was in charge of acquiring, financing and divesting more than $2 billion worth of commercial and multifamily assets. From 2004 to 2006, he served as project manager at Ryan Homes, specializing in single-family development.

Zell holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Pennsylvania, as well as a Master of Science in real estate finance and an MBA from New York University. As we reported last March, CBRE appointed a vice chairman in Atlanta.
