CBRE Hires Affordable Housing Expert
In her new role as director & industry specialist, Sarah Garland will support origination of affordable and workforce housing debt financing.
CBRE Affordable Housing has appointed Sarah Garland as director of Capital Markets & Affordable Housing Production in Seattle. The industry expert will be leading the initiative to leverage the company’s origination platform with CBRE Affordable Housing’s competence in the regulated multifamily finance market. As director, she will be responsible for supporting origination of affordable and workforce houing debt financing.
Garland will be joining the Affordable Housing’s Debt and Structured Finance team of experts, which also includes Jim Flinn, who recently secured the financing of an affordable property in Kent, Wash., as well as Karu Arulanandam, Blake Ilgenfritz, Alex Pedersen and Courtney Sorce.
Prior to joining CBRE, Garland held the position of senior vice president at PNC Bank, where she was responsible for affordable housing debt production, with a focus on Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA. Before that, she served as Fannie Mae’s national director of Multifamily Affordable Housing. Additionally, she is a former chair of the MBA FHA Committee and vice chairman of the MBA Multifamily Steering Committee.
