Beech Street Capital Recruits Seasoned Veterans to Continue Building Seniors Housing Practice

Beech Street Capital LLC, a full-service national lender to the multifamily, seniors housing, and health care industries, announced today that it has hired James Sherman as executive vice president – seniors housing to continue building the company’s seniors housing practice.

Washington, D.C.—Beech Street Capital LLC, a full-service national lender to the multifamily, seniors housing, and health care industries, announced today that it has hired James Sherman as executive vice president – seniors housing to continue building the company’s seniors housing practice.

During his 40-year career, Sherman has advised clients and completed financings totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. These financings include conventional bank debt for new construction and acquisitions, bond financings, taxable and tax-exempt financings, Fannie Mae, and FHA guaranteed financings for seniors housing, health care and hospitals.

Sherman comes to Beech Street from RED Capital Group, where he was a senior managing director leading the senior housing and long-term care group. He is a recognized leader in the industry, having served on the boards of many professional organizations, including a term as president of the National Association of Seniors Living Industries. Sherman was also president and CEO of Churchill Estates, an assisted living provider.

Along with Sherman, Beech Street recruited another industry veteran from RED, Michael Byrnes, to serve as vice president—seniors housing. Byrnes has more than 30 years of experience in seniors housing and health care financing.
