After appointing a new senior vice president, Arbor Realty Trust Inc. has selected Howard Leiner as its newest executive vice president & chief technology officer. In his new role, he will oversee the strategic, operational and technical management of the company’s technology infrastructure.
Leiner has more than 25 years of financial services experience, having previously worked for Goldman Sachs. Between 2007 and 2018, he served various roles within the company, including managing director & global head of Private Bank Technology, managing director & global head of Foreign Exchange Trading and Sales Technology, as well as global head of Mortgage Trading and Sales Technology.
Between 1998 and 2007, he worked as chief technology officer at C-BASS LLC and held various senior programmer positions within Deutsche Bank and Smith Barney. The recently appointed executive holds a bachelor of science in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
“Howard has a proven track record of success in leading and managing the technical infrastructure of large-scale financial service organizations,” Arbor Realty Trust Chairman & CEO Ivan Kaufman said in a prepared statement. “His achievements and experience in financial services make him the ideal candidate to lead our technology operations as we position ourselves for growth and the implementation of cutting-edge innovative technology platforms.”
