ARA Newmark Hires New Senior Managing Director in Texas
Matt Greer spearheads debt originations, joint venture/equity placement and investor relations in his new position at ARA Newmark.
Austin—ARA Newmark recently appointed a new senior managing director in the Central Texas office that serves Austin and San Antonio, the nation’s fastest growing metropolitan area. Matt Greer joins a team of 12 multi-housing professionals led by Executive Managing Director Patton Jones.
Prior to joining ARA Newmark, Greer spent nine years with commercial mortgage company Berkadia in Austin. While there, he financed projects totaling more than $2 billion across multi-housing, student housing and manufactured housing as well as office, industrial and retail properties.
“Matt brings deep experience with complex, non-traditional capital structures such as permanent, bridge, equity and mezzanine debt financing,” said Jones, director of ARA Newmark’s National Student Housing group & National Manufactured Housing group, in a prepared release. “Our investment sales strength combined with our debt and equity platform offers clients unparalleled access to national and global capital.”
Prior to joining Berkadia, Greer was a partner with Austin-based AMS Real Estate firm, where he started an underwriting group that worked for the commercial mortgage-backed securities industry’s largest originators. Greer also served as vice president at Simmons Vedder Partners, which specializes in the acquisition and development of commercial and multi-housing properties. He led marketing initiatives and development for the company’s industrial products.
Greer is a graduate of the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in economics. He is a Certified Commercial Investment Manager (CCIM) and is active in the Mortgage Bankers Association, the National Multifamily Housing Council and the Urban Land Institute.
