ZOM Texas Breaks Ground on a Luxury Community in Houston’s Galleria/Uptown District
ZOM Texas has broken ground on The Hudson, its third community in Houston. The project will add 431 units to the Galleria/Uptown market.

Houston—Multifamily real estate developer ZOM announced that its regional affiliate, ZOM Texas, has broken ground on a 431-unit luxury residential community known as The Hudson. The property is located in Houston’s Galleria/Uptown neighborhood and is expected to start leasing in the first quarter of 2015.
The Hudson project is a joint venture composed of ZOM Texas and an investor account advised by the real estate business of UBS Global Asset Management. The joint venture has tapped Stanford Construction as the general contractor for the project and ZRS Management LLC has been selected as the provider of property management services.
“ZOM continues to pursue multifamily development opportunities in Texas, with particular focus on the Houston market, based on compelling long term trends,” says David Kubin, senior vice president for ZOM Texas. “With Houston currently ranking No. 2 in the U.S. job market, and the anticipated robust job growth over the next five years, we niche into this market with a carefully researched, unique product and mix.”
The Hudson will be located on a 5.3 acre parcel on Fountain View Drive at San Felipe Drive near a planned retail center that will be anchored by an upscale HEB Market. The location will also provide residents convenient access to the 610 Loop, a main commuter route to downtown Houston, the Texas Medical Center and other employment centers.
The community itself is designed as a four- and five-story wrap that will include a parking garage with seven levels and an elaborate motor court. The buildings will be constructed around three centrally located, landscaped courtyards.
Resort-like amenities include an e-lounge, golf simulator, and a fitness center with classrooms for a variety of workouts like spinning, yoga, Pilates and aerobics. Additionally, the pet-friendly community will include a dog park and pet salon.
The Hudson represents the third property ZOM Texas has built in Houston. Its other two communities, La Maison at River Oaks and The Bel Air, are located in the River Oaks and The Heights Houston submarkets, respectively.
