Yardi Receives Safe Harbor Framework Compliance Certification

Yardi announced that it is certified as compliant with the Safe Harbor Framework principles established jointly by the U.S. Commerce Department and the European Union.

Santa Barbara, Calif.—Yardi announced that it is certified as compliant with the Safe Harbor Framework principles established jointly by the U.S. Commerce Department and the European Union. Yardi was able to self-certify its compliance with the Safe Harbor Framework after submitting an application to the U.S. Commerce Department.

The company’s placement on the U.S.-EU Safe Harbor List means that global clients hosted by Yardi in a U.S. data center can maintain their database there as they diversify their portfolios overseas. This saves them the inconvenience of moving hosting locations or splitting their hosting between data centers in the U.S. and Europe.

The Safe Harbor Framework bridges differences in U.S. and EU privacy protection standards and helps U.S. organizations avoid interruptions in their business dealings with the EU and prosecution by EU member states for privacy law violations.
