Santa Barbara, Calif.—Yardi announced today that its expertise in energy management will help this month’s Green Real Estate Conference showcase the economic, environmental and competitive advantages of greening buildings.

Matt Miller, industry principal for Yardi Energy Solutions™ at Yardi, will participate in a session titled “Why Are Energy and Environmental Efficiency Not Costs but Assets To Be Managed? What Financial Tools & Programs Can You Take Advantage Of? How to Measure Your Paybacks and Hurdle Rates?” Miller will be joined in the hour-long presentation by fellow panelists Bob Bach of Energy Profiles, Joe Bilé of Toronto Hydro, Konrad Seemann of PL Energy Initiatives, and moderator Michael Parker of the Canadian Green Building Council’s Toronto chapter.

The ninth annual Green Real Estate Conference, March 25 in Toronto, will feature high-level discussions of the economics, feasibility, benefits, and value of upgrading existing properties or developing new properties as green or high performance buildings.

“This session and the conference in general are compelling in view of expanding green initiatives, government energy-conservation mandates and the competitive advantages of making property management more cost-efficient. Everybody with a stake in these issues is invited to leverage the knowledge and experience that Matt and the other experts are happy to share,” said Peter Altobelli, vice president for Yardi in Canada.

The Green Real Estate Conference will draw representatives from real estate corporations, public sector organizations, institutional lenders and advisors, management firms and other organizations from across Canada. YES Energy Management Inc., a division of Yardi, is a Gold sponsor of the conference. Yardi Energy Solutions, an automated energy management system that Miller helps deliver to the multifamily and commercial markets, is a service of YES Energy Management.
