Wood Partners Breaks Ground on Houston Property
Located in the Texas Medical Center, Alta Med Main will feature 338 units and access to amenities such as a Sky Lounge, a fitness center, and a dog park.
Wood Partners has started construction on Alta Med Main, a multifamily community in Houston. The property is adjacent to the TMC3 project, a 30-acre mixed-use development that will offer four academic institutions, a conference center, plazas, shops, a 410-key hotel and conference center, restaurants, research and office space, as well as other commercial space.
Located at 9330 Main St., the property will comprise 338 one- and two-bedroom floorplans. The four-story asset is scheduled to open in the spring of 2020 and will also include a structured parking garage with direct building access. Common area amenities will include:
- clubroom
- Sky Lounge
- business center with micro-offices
- communal work areas
- 24-hour fitness center
- outdoor entertaining space
- resort-style pool
- courtyard
- dog park and pet washing stations
“Alta Med Main is poised to benefit from Houston’s ever expanding Texas Medical Center. This is a key location that grants our residents access to high-paying, competitive careers, and all that Houston’s night life and cultural scenes have to offer,” said Bart Barrett, managing director for Wood Partners’ Houston office, in a prepared statement. “We are excited to be located within a strong submarket with healthy occupancy and strong growth that is also within close proximity to major employment centers, retail, outdoor space and major thoroughfares.”
Alta Med Main is within close proximity to the Texas Medical Center—the eighth largest business district in the U.S.—as well as local attractions such as NRG Stadium, Rice Village, the central business district, Houston Zoo, Miller Outdoor Theatre, Rice University, the Museum District, Hermann Park and Houston Museum of Natural Science.
Last month, Wood Partners opened Bask in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., a 310-unit luxury multifamily asset.
