Seattle—Wood Partners is set to begin construction on a high-rise apartment community in Seattle. The community will be located at 225 Cedar Street on the southwest corner of Cedar and Third Avenue.

The community, which will include 27 stories and 298 units, will feature different floor plans, including studios, and urban and traditional one- and two-bedroom units. On average, the apartments will be 660 square feet.

Building amenities will include a roof deck with a fire pit and gas barbecue grills, and a rooftop residents’ lounge. There will also be six levels of subterranean parking, which will accommodate nearly 200 cars.

Additionally, the community will feature views of the Seattle skyline. The property is located near the Space Needle, and is a short walk from major neighborhoods, including South Lake Union and Queen Anne neighborhoods. It is also convenient to the Seattle center, which hosts various cultural and educational organizations and facilities, festivals, entertainment venues and community programs.

“We targeted the Belltown neighborhood due to its vibrant urban energy coupled with vast local amenities and active employment hub. What sets Third and Cedar apart from other new developments is its prime location, unique architecture, breathtaking views and a modern style of living,” Steve Orser, vice president of development for the Pacific Northwest, Wood Partners, tells MHN.

Project partners for the new community include equity partner Prudential, lender JPM Chase, architect and landscape architect Hewitt, structural engineer DCI Engineers and civil engineer KPFF. The general contractor is Andersen Construction.
