William Warren Opens 200th Self Storage Facility
The new East Bay property includes climate-controlled units with drive-up access.
The William Warren Group has started leasing units in a newly completed self storage facility in Walnut Creek, Calif. This is the 12th property in the San Francisco Bay Area and the 200th nationwide the company operates under the StorQuest flag.
Located at 2870 Camino Diablo, the 77,300-gross-square-foot property is more than 1 mile from Walnut Creek’s retail corridor on North Main Street, and less than 3 miles from Lafayette.
Storage spaces at the facility range from 25 to 350 square feet and include climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled units with drive-up access. The four-story property is monitored digitally and can be accessed all weekdays.
Walnut Creek is home to a large retiree community, with nearly a quarter of its residents aged 65 or older. The median age is 48 and the household income average of $112.000, which is also significantly higher than the national average.
The San Francisco Bay Area is one of the top-performing self storage markets in the U.S., with the second-highest street rate for 10×10 non-climate-controlled units. Topping at $203 in March, the average asking rate recorded a 5.2 percent increase year-over-year. Rates for 10×10 climate-controlled units also rose more than 4 percent over the same period last year, Yardi Matrix data shows.
