Welltower Acquires San Antonio Senior Living Portfolio
The two luxury properties, totaling 335 units and offering independent living, assisted living and memory care services, have been rebranded together as Discovery Village at Dominion.

Welltower Inc. has acquired a luxury senior living portfolio totaling 335 units in San Antonio, Texas. South Bay Partners was the seller and developer of the 230-unit Watercrest at Dominion and the neighboring 105-unit Isle at Watercrest Dominion. The two properties have been rebranded together as Discovery Village at Dominion. Discovery Senior Living will manage the combined community, which marks the fifth Discovery Village-branded property in Texas.
Located at 6870 Heuerman Road in the Dominion area, the senior living campus is roughly 20 miles north of downtown San Antonio via Interstate 10, and 18 miles from San Antonio International Airport. The property is surrounded by parks, while also offering its residents easy access to shopping and dining venues.
Completed in 2016, Discovery Village at Dominion provides independent living, assisted living and memory care services. The senior housing portfolio offers one-, two- and three-bedroom units featuring stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and ADA-compliant bathrooms. Furthermore, the assisted living units benefit from medical director scheduled visits, 24-hour nursing and medication management. Common-area amenities include concierge services, on-site dining, transportation services, a senior equipped wellness center and emergency call response system.
South Bay Partners is the co-developer of a 250-unit luxury senior housing community currently underway in suburban Philadelphia and scheduled for completion in early 2021.
