‘Vista Lux’ Retail Strip Coming Soon to AKOYA Oxygen in Dubai
DAMAC Properties, the developer of Dubai’s AKOYA Oxygen, revealed the master-planned luxury living community’s upscale retail strip at the Arabian Travel Market exhibition, a major travel and tourism event held in Dubai. Called Vista Lux, the upscale entertainment and retail district will encompass some 1 million square feet, extending through the center of the neighborhood.

Dubai, UAE –DAMAC Properties, the developer of Dubai’s AKOYA Oxygen, revealed the master-planned luxury living community’s upscale retail strip at the Arabian Travel Market exhibition, a major travel and tourism event held in Dubai. Called Vista Lux, the upscale entertainment and retail district will encompass some 1 million square feet, extending through the center of the neighborhood.
The Vista Lux will feature a waterway and close to one mile of walkways along with a luxury shopping arcade with restaurants, retail and entertainment to cater to residents’ lifestyles and attract visitors from around the globe. The design also includes many innovations such as a hydroponic café & restaurant where visitors can select their own produce, and the Dubai Rainforest, self-contained experiential ecosystem integrated into a landmark structure. Set in an enclosed dome, the facility recreates a natural jungle environment with dense vegetation. Additionally, Rainforest Spa will offer hydrothermal treatments among rock pools and steam baths.
Developers hope the project will also become the stage for various cultural events, performances and art displays, and created an outdoor area called “The Green”–showcasing cultural performances, poetry readings and mini-theatre productions. A library and coffee house will also be placed close to another area dedicated for art installations, set on a street which includes mobile gourmet street food with a wide selection of international cuisine. An open-air designer fashion market called the “V” Restaurant will unravel a menu selected from fresh organic ingredients sourced at the AKOYA Oxygen farmers market.
AKOYA Oxygen is a lifestyle hub 15 minutes from the city center, along Umm Suqeim Expressway. Currently under construction with the initial roads and infrastructure close to completion, it is set to become one of the major focal points of the Dubailand area, stretching over 55 million square feet. DAMAC Properties has appointed Aecom as Lead Consultant for the design and infrastructure of the first 1,000 villas, and contracts have also been issued for further residential clusters to Ghantoot Gulf Contracting and Lootah Building & Construction LLC.
