Village Green Creates New International Partnership

Village Green, one of the oldest (1919), and largest, private luxury apartment developers in the United States is entering into a partnership with ROCK Advisors, Inc., a Toronto apartment brokerage firm.

Detroit–Village Green, one of the oldest (1919), and largest, private luxury apartment developers in the United States is entering into a partnership with ROCK Advisors, Inc., a Toronto apartment brokerage firm. The new company, named VG Canada, will be based in Toronto. VG Canada will provide consulting services for new and existing apartment communities.

The two company’s CEO’s, Derek Lobo of ROCK Advisors, Inc. and Jonathan Holtzman of Village Green have been colleagues across the border for many years and have been waiting for the right opportunity to collaborate. “The joint partnership is the result of two industry leaders with a common vision coming together at a favorable time in the market. Apartment construction in North America is experiencing dramatic growth and this synthesis with Village Green melds local market expertise with a large, proven developer/operator,” said Rock Advisors COO Jim Dimanis.

Toronto will be Village Green’s ninth regional office and it’s first outside the United States. Diane Batayeh, Village Green COO says, “Our partnerships always include working with local firms and hiring local staff to the greatest extent possible, it’s an important part of creating successful communities.”  Village Green also has ties to Toronto through a long-standing relationship with the advertising firm L.A. Ads.
