UK Boutique Hotels Fetch $760M
Frasers Hospitality UK Holdings Limited has closed on the acquisition of boutique lifestyle hotel group Malmaison Hotel du Vin, expanding its portfolio with 29 properties.

UK and Singapore—Frasers Hospitality UK Holdings Limited (Frasers Hospitality) has closed on the acquisition of boutique lifestyle hotel group Malmaison Hotel du Vin (MHDV), expanding its portfolio with 29 properties. The $760 million ((£363.4 million) acquisition has lifted the buyer among the leading hospitality players in the European boutique and lifestyle hotel market. Frasers Hospitality, a wholly owned subsidiary of Frasers Centrepoint Limited (FCL) purchased MHDV from an affiliate of KSL Capital Partners, LLC.
MHDV consists of two high-end boutique lifestyle brands, Malmaison and Hotel du Vin, totaling 29 properties across 25 cities in the United Kingdom. Overall MHDV comprises 2,082 keys, almost doubling FCL’s European Holdings to approximately 4,000 keys. Overall, the acquisition brings FCL’s portfolio to 129 properties totaling 21,100 keys in 77 cities.
MHDVS’s holdings consist of converted and repositioned iconic heritage structures that target the upper tiers of business and leisure travelers. The Hotel du Vin brand consists of 16 properties that feature signature bistros and an emphasis on distinguished vines. Malmaison consists of 13 properties and is a market leader in the boutique segment, having been named Best Small Hotel Chain for 4 consecutive years at the Business Travel Awards.
