U-Haul Expands in Texas, Arizona
The new facilities are scheduled for completion in 2026.
U-Haul is expanding its self storage footprint with the development of two new facilities in Texas and Arizona. The company has acquired the construction sites for the projects, which are set for completion in 2026.
Plans for the Ingram Park facility in San Antonio include a three-story building that will offer 750 climate-controlled units, ranging between 25 and 300 square feet. The project marks U-Haul’s 16th property in San Antonio.
The facility will take shape on 11 acres at 7616 N.W. Loop 410, 13 miles from downtown San Antonio. As of early February, the market had 14 self storage properties under construction, set to add 1.2 million square feet to the existing inventory, Yardi Matrix data shows.
The second project will be U-Haul’s first asset in Payson, Ariz. Development plans include an 80,000-square-foot, three-story building that will offer 600 units with climate-controlled options, ranging between 25 and 300 square feet. A separate warehouse will host portable storage containers.
The facility will take shape on 10 acres at 1900 N. Beeline Highway. The property will serve the local hiking, camping, biking and fishing community, according to prepared remarks from James Jessup, president of the company’s Northern Arizona branch .
U-Haul recently completed another facility in the state. The 117,154-square-foot property is a three-story building that came online in Apache Junction, Ariz., 35 miles from downtown Phoenix.
Amenities at the U-Haul facilities will include towing equipment, boxes and moving supplies, RV and vehicle storage, hitch installation, portable storage containers, video surveillance and online payment.
