Tubelite introduces a tough new storm door that is made mostly from recycled aluminum.

ForceFront Storm door testing

Walker, Mich.—Tubelite has introduced a new entry door system called ForceFront Storm that is designed for buildings in need of storm-hazard mitigation. The doors are designed to comply with high-velocity hurricane zone (HVHZ) wind-zones 2 and 3. ForceFront Storm doors are also tested to meet Miami Dade large missile impact requirements.

“This new system will complement our current product offering in our geographic areas, especially in the eastern coastal and northern Texas regions,” says Mary Olivier, Tubelite’s marketing manager.

The storm entry doors feature tie-rod construction, wide stiles and heavy-duty hardware. A single door measures 3 feet wide and 7 feet high. A pair measures 8 by 8 feet.

These protective doors offer environmental benefits as well. Tubelite products are manufactured using EcoLuminum, a high recycled-content (greater than 80 percent) aluminum billet composition that comes with eco-friendly and durable finishes. The feature can contribute to projects seeking certification by the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Rating System.
