Irvine, Calif.—Tri Pointe Homes Southern California, a member of TRI Pointe Group, has broken ground on construction at The Westerlies, a 116 attached townhome community in Oxnard, Calif. Prices of these homes are predicted to start in the low $300,000s. Sales are targeted to begin in August 2015 and occupancy for phase one is set for November 2015.
“In a recovering market, land acquisition has once again become competitive. Certain areas have been able to absorb their excess inventory and with employment and population growth, we are seeing pressure for development,” said Brian Sinderhoff, vice president of land acquisition for TRI Pointe Homes Southern Caliornia. “The Westerlies is a great example of the latter. The harbor area of Oxnard is ripe for redevelopment and this kind of project fits well with TRI Pointe Homes’ land strategy goals and areas of expertise, which include urban infill development.”
When completed, the three-story residences will have a variety of floor plans available. These four floor option plans will range from 1,187 to 2,178 square feet which is set to include exterior living space as well as two car garages.
Available amenities will include a centralized recreation area, paseos linking residents to shopping, dining, and entertainment in Seabridge, another large development in the area. In addition, the location of the community is near the 101 Freeway, placing it conveniently to the Pacific Ocean, Channel Island Marina, and many local beaches. With close proximity to the freeway, The Westerlies is within a 60-minute commute for employment in centers including Santa Barbara, the San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita.
