Toll Brothers Opens New York Luxury Apartments

Toll Brothers Apartment Living, the rental development arm of Toll Brothers Inc., has opened Emerson, a 188-unit, 234,000-square-foot luxury apartment community located at 203 Legend Drive in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. The property is the newest installment in the Edge-on-Hudson master-planned luxury community.
Emerson was designed by Baron Partners, and construction of the community, subject to a $35.6 million loan provided by TD Bank, began in 2019. Occupancy was first offered in June 2022. The community hosts a mix of 127 market rate one- and two-bedroom luxury arrangements, which average slightly above 1,000 square feet. Sixty-one of the 188 units are affordable and average slightly less than 1,000 square feet each. Individual unit amenities include open floor plans, industrial finishes, stainless steel smart appliances, marble countertops and in-residence laundry units. The property features a library, chef’s kitchen, clubhouse, bar, game room and fitness center.
Situated on the eastern bank of the Hudson River, Emerson is located approximately 25 miles north of New York City. The location offers quick access to interstates 287 and 87, alongside the Tarrytown Metro-North railroad station, giving residents access to many opportunities for employment and education. Additionally, the community is within walking distance of numerous state parks and country clubs.
The bigger picture
Emerson is part of the ongoing master-planned Edge-on-Hudson luxury joint project, containing a mix of town homes, condominiums, office and retail space. Toll Brothers had already developed The Brownstones, a 72-townhome section that was part of the community’s first phase of construction. Hines is another key developer involved in the project, alongside Biddle Real Estate Ventures and PCD Development. Edge-on-Hudson, another key part of the development, broke ground in September.
Another recently opened Toll Brothers development is Emblem 120, a 289-unit property in Woburn, Mass.
