The Preiss Co. to Upgrade 598-Bed Community Near Clemson University
Three-quarters of the units at Collective at Clemson will undergo renovations.
The Preiss Co. has recapitalized Collective at Clemson, a 598-bed student housing property serving Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. The company has allocated part of its fees—amounting to $3.8 million—to a comprehensive renovation of the 184-unit community.
The owner acquired the asset in 2019 from Aspen Heights Partners for an undisclosed sale price, and will continue to manage the community following its renovation.
Improvements at Collective at Clemson are set to focus on enhancing the fitness center and the swimming pool, as well improving internet services across the property. Additionally, more than three-quarters of the units will be upgraded with stainless steel appliances, refinished cabinetry, quartz countertops, new interior paint color, 70-inch TVs in the living rooms, as well as contemporary light fixtures.
Situated at 673 Old Greenville Highway, just one mile from Clemson University, the 184-unit community features a mix of two- to five-bedroom townhomes and apartments, with an average size of 1,855 square feet. Each unit includes private bathrooms and bedrooms with walk-in closets, as well as full-size washers and dryers. Students have access to amenities such as private study rooms, 24-hour fitness center, a hot tub, a swimming pool, grilling and picnic stations, full-court volleyball, bark park and a game room with foosball and ping-pong.
Last month, TPCO announced it would also recapitalize a 486-bed student housing community in San Marcos, Texas.
