Student Housing Coming to University of Montana

Campus Advantage will manage Farran Realty Partners' new 498-bed development in Missoula, Mt., the first purpose-built student housing community to serve the university.

roamFarran Realty Partners LLC has named Campus Advantage as manager of ROAM, a planned 498-bed student housing development in Missoula, Mont., that will serve students from the University of Montana.

Catalyst will manage the brand development.

“We couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to partner with Campus Advantage and Catalyst on this project,” Jim McLeod, Farran Realty Partners’ senior development partner, said. “These companies’ proven success in branding and leasing new developments will be invaluable to us as we introduce this new property to students and future residents near the University of Montana.”


ROAM will contain top amenities that appeal to students with an adventurous, outdoor lifestyle, including outdoor kitchens with grilling stations, a bike and ski tuning shop, a fire pit and a large fitness center.

Once completed in the fall of 2018, the development will be the first purpose-built student housing community in the area, and will be biking distance to the university.

“Campus Advantage is thrilled to bring our value-add branding and property management expertise, as well as our exceptional operations team and training programs, to this new development and its residents,” Pam West, Campus Advantage’s vice president of operations, said. “I am confident that our dedication to maintaining and operating properties to the highest standard will create an environment that future students at the University of Montana and residents of ROAM will love.”

The community will subscribe to Campus Advantage’s Students First program, which is designed to help student residents gain more opportunities to achieve success both now and in the future.

According to McLeod, Campus Advantage was chosen to manage ROAM because of its extensive experience with leasing new developments, which matched well with Catalyst’s successful brand creations and integrated marketing platform.

Campus Advantage has added 3,622 beds to its growing portfolio this year alone. Nationwide, the company has an approximate 97 occupancy rate, industry-leading resident renewal rates and offers low maintenance costs.
