StreetLights Residential Debuts Luxury Community in Austin
The developer is expanding its Austin presence with the opening of The Michael at Presidio, in partnership with a principal investor.

Austin, Texas—Developer StreetLights Residential and its partner Tricon Capital Group Inc. have opened a new community in north Austin, named The Michael at Presidio. The 415-unit luxury apartment and townhome community is located at 13535 Lyndhurst St., near Lakeline Mall.
The community offers access to green space and pedestrian trails, as well as Highway 183 and Texas 45 Toll Road. For those who prefer public transit, The Michael is also within walking distance of the Lakeline Metrorail station.
“StreetLights focuses on creating walkable neighborhoods that provide a strong sense of community,” said StreetLights CEO Doug Chesnut. “We put a lot of thought into the design details of The Michael’s outdoor spaces, amenities, and apartment homes to create a ‘high touch, high feel’ living experience for residents.”
Potential residents of The Michael can choose from several floor plans, including studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom townhomes. Units range in size from 599 to 1,896 square feet and include features like granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, 10- and 12-foot vaulted ceilings and private patios. Monthly rents start at $1,125 for a studio, $1,150 for a one bedroom, $1,580 for a two bedroom and $2,500 for a three-bedroom townhome. Community amenities include a pool with grilling stations, full-service community lounge with fireplace, game lounge, private conference center, coffee bar, fitness center with spin room and electric car charging stations.
The rest of the development team included: SLR Texas Construction LLC, general contractor; Looney Ricks Kiss, building architect; Linda Tycher Design and Bury Inc, landscape designers; Faulkner Design Group, interior designer; and Gables Residential, property manager.
Austin is a familiar market for StreetLights Residential. The developer is set to break ground soon on Austin Flatiron, a five-story residential community in the Domaina area, and developed two other projects, luxury high-rise The Catherine in downtown that was completed in October 2105, and the six-story community The Kenzie at the Domain, which was completed in August 2014. StreetLights Residential sold The Kenzie to Heitman last May and sold The Catherine to an affiliate of Christopher Investment Co. this past May.
