StorageMart Adds New Facility to Kansas Portfolio
The Overland Park property is the newest within a 3-mile radius.
StorageMart has opened a new, all-climate-controlled self storage facility in Overland Park, Kan. Great Southern Bank provided an $8.8 million construction loan for the project, Yardi Matrix data shows.
The three-story building at 7240 Shawnee Mission Parkway offers 84,480 rentable square feet, with units ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. The property includes loading bays for larger units, elevator access and digital surveillance. Rent payments and unit access can be done contactless, via an app.
The facility is located immediately northwest of the W. 63rd Street intersection with Metcalf Avenue, close to a large retail center and a business park. The Overland Park town center is some 3 miles from the property, while downtown Kansas City is roughly 8 miles to the north.
According to Yardi Matrix data, no other self storage projects are underway within a 3-mile radius, which makes the StorageMart property the newest facility in the area. StorageMart owns and operates five other self storage facilities in Overland Park.
Recently, the Austin-based company expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of a 66,975-square-foot facility in Baltimore, which will undergo capital improvements under the new ownership.
