Singh Development Plans MI Luxury Asset

Singh Development has unveiled plans for The Griffin, a mixed-use development in Royal Oak, Mich. The Griffin will include 245 apartment units above 10,000 square feet of retail space.

The property will offer studio and one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Common amenities will include a fitness center, courtyard pool, bike repair room, game room, bistro café, business center and a parking garage.

Rents will range from $1,400 to $3,000, and the project’s first units are expected to be complete in 2020. Located at the intersection of I-696 and Woodward Ave., the community will provide access to local entertainment, shopping centers, dining, and fitness and wellness facilities, the developer said.

Vacant for Years

Singh acquired the 4.4-acre site for the development through a request for proposal process from the Royal Oak Downtown Development Authority, after it was vacant for years. The developer paid about $2.5 million for the site.

In addition to The Griffin, Singh currently has three other properties under construction: Park West, a multifamily development in Canton, Mich.; Bolingbrooke, a single-family home development in Novi, Mich.; and Waltonwood Lake Boone, a senior living community in Raleigh, N.C.
