New York—Dog City, the popular, full-service dog daycare and spa from Related Companies, today opens a second Manhattan location at the Robert A.M. Stern-designed Abington House on the High Line. This opening follows on the heels of Dog City’s successful debut location at Related’s MiMA.
Dog owners comprise one third of the residents at Abington House, a 312-unit luxury tower at 500 West 30th Street in West Chelsea. An exclusive amenity for Abington House residents, Dog City features indoor play areas, ultra-luxurious grooming and training facilities, and a variety of services including pooch spa treatments. Also offered is veterinary care from an AAHA-certified practitioner, who provides both conventional and alternative therapies.
Residents will be able to choose from 14 monthly membership options, as well as a spectrum of a la carte services. They can easily customize a Dog City program that meets their unique lifestyle requirements.
Membership services include complimentary pick-up and drop off for daily services; grooming and veterinary visits; access to Dog City’s indoor play area; complete use of a self-serve dog wash-and-dry facility, augmented by free towel service; doggy manicures and pedicures; ear cleanings; and “Pee & Play” Sessions, which include sessions at the facility and basic assistance with obedience training. There will also be invitations to special events that range from holiday parties to seminars on training and wellness.
Dog City brings unprecedented ease and convenience to dog ownership. An expert Dog Concierge is on staff to help coordinate Dog City’s services, whether they be overnight dog-sitting, cat nanny or a solo or buddy dog walk.
Scheduling treatments, overseeing exercise in esteemed crate-free facilities and supervising exercise and nutrition regimens for out-of-town owners are just a few of the ways Dog City delivers unrivaled peace of mind to dog owners.
“For a dog owner in Manhattan, there is no better perk or anything more convenient than having a dog walker, dog groomer and vet, all right in your building; it’s the ultimate luxury,” said Daria Salusbury, senior vice president and head of luxury leasing for Related Companies. “Just take a look at Dog City at MiMA. We’ve had a constant flurry of activity there since the day we opened.”
Related Companies created Dog City in partnership with Manhattan canine expert Leya Ogihara. Related plans to unveil the popular perk at other New York City properties.
Abington House is a 33-story luxury tower featuring interiors by Clodagh Design, a dramatic lobby and two light-filled ground-floor lounges with catering kitchens.
“We are so excited to bring Dog City to Abington House, where it’s sure to be just as popular,” Salusbury concluded. “We already have 100 dogs in the building, and counting.”
